Hi friends, family, and extended internet family!
You’re here! That really means a lot to me.
When I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2015, I underestimated how keeping a secret that big would affect me. I WANTED to share, but a sharp voice in my head stopped me with, "No one wants to hear about your problems.”
Well, I’m getting over myself. And just in time, because my secrets are festering and I NEED to share in order to keep healing, keep growing.
“What does it mean for me to live an extraordinary life as a human being?”. I could begin here, but that seemed like a ridiculously stupid high starting point for someone who cries every time she talks to people about her feelings.
So I’ll settle for writing on what I’ve learned about being healthy and happy, as well as the growing pains on my way to “becoming” whole. Also, anyone who knows me knows I’m obsessed with nutrition and how the human body works, so y’all won’t escape that here. Oh, and sprinkle in neat findings in physiology, sociology, psychology, technology, and neuroscience too.
Before I go, please bear with me on this process. It’ll probably be kinda ugly, imperfect, and gross as I learn to write, curate, and discern… especially on what NOT to share. But I hope you’ll stick around to get a few laughs, a few insights, and maybe even something useful.
In an honest conversation, my dear friend Cynthia recently said, "I would love to see you take what you've learned and bring it back down the mountain." I guess that means it's time to make like Modern Moses. And start a newsletter!
The first actual newsletter will drop in a week. So stay tuned, and sign up here so you don’t miss the first issue!
Meanwhile, if you know someone who might enjoy this, you can share here!
