Who would've thought there was so much to learn about cats and carbs? I'm not a cat person but I have a Jack Russel. He's a picky eater in that he won't eat the same kibble twice in a row. So I keep three different kibbles in rotation, and never buy the same brand or flavour in a row. Then again I thought I wouldn't want to have the same dish every day either!
Firstly, that is hilarious that your dog won't eat the same kibble twice in a row! I'm convinced it's because of both preference and a need to vary nutrients. Secondly, I don't have kids, but I'm beginning to think that having a kid is having 2 cats times 1000 in complexity. LOL.
True! But at least kids would let you know (eventually) what they want or don't want or how they're feeling. My neighbour has two cats. She doesn't want to lock them in at night (which is the advice here in NZ so the cats don't go killing the native baby birds in the trees). She says one has anxiety and locking them in at night will cause his anxiety to increase. I asked her how does she know that. They have never been locked in at night and has anxiety, maybe the open door is what is causing his anxiety. At least with a kid you could ask them and they may or may not tell you XD
This is so real. We recently found out our male cat has worms - no idea how long he has been having it, but we thought he was just gradually becoming more grumpy, not interested in play, less interested in food since we got the kitten. Turns out he had worms! Almost back to normal since treatment 3 weeks ago, but it hurts my heart knowing that he was just suffering in quiet for god knows how long :,(

You are literally the best cat-parent ever. Learned so much from this!
